Former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt hailed prolific Indian batter Virat Kohli for maintaining his fitness even after playing so long years for India at the highest level and believes that he is one of the fittest cricketers in International cricket.
The Indian batting maestro became the first-ever player in the game’s history to score a hundred on the 500th game for the country. Virat Kohli batted equally well against the pacers and spinners in the 1st innings, as he batted with a lot of patience in the middle to score his first overseas test hundred in the last five years against West Indies.
Speaking on his youtube channel, Salman Butt praised Virat Kohli for his fitness in the game and believes that he provides the perfect roadmap for the youngster to follow in International Cricket and reckons that he is a brilliant example for the players as he thrives under pressure to perform for the team in the highest level.
“Looking at Virat Kohli’s fitness, he can continue playing. He has been scoring runs, and he is not just fit but one of the fittest players in the world. He could very well be the fittest cricketer,” Salman Butt said.

“He is someone who is an institution in himself. His career is a roadmap for youngsters. Be it his nutrition, commitment, dedication, and ability to thrive under pressure, he is a brilliant example,” Salman Butt added.
The Indian veteran showed a lot of grit and determination in the middle alongside Ravindra Jadeja on Day 2 to bat out the initial tough overs in the Caribbean soil to put the Indian team in a driving position in the 2nd test on Friday, as India posted a massive 1st innings score of 438 runs at the Queen’s Park Oval.
It Seems As If India Are Playing Against A Minnow Team – Salman Butt
Salman Butt believes that India has dominated the series so far, as it looked the Men in Blue is playing against a minnow team in International cricket, and believes that the Men in Maroon should surpass 350 runs to provide some sort of contest in the 2nd test and reckons that West Indies batter is in a hurry to play shots in their innings.

“It has just been one-sided dominance so far. It seems as if India is playing against a minnow team. If West Indies somehow manages to get to 350 or 375, only then could we get to see some sort of contest.
“However, India are a superior bowling side. West Indies have the talent, but the batters tend to play extravagant shots once in a while, causing their downfall,” Salman Butt further added.
Virat Kohli batted exceedingly well on Day 2 to score his 29th century in the longer format of the game and looked like he is well settled to score a daddy hundred before being dismissed by run-out due to the confusion with Ravindra Jadeja in the middle.
