Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is having a forgettable outing with the bat ongoing two-match test series against West Indies before he redeemed himself by taking a stunning catch to send back a West Indies batter Jermaine Blackwood on Day 3 of the second test at the Queen’s Park Oval.

The Indian vice-captain failed to perform well with the bat and was dismissed for just 8 runs by Shannon Gabriel in the 1st innings as he was rattled by the West Indies pacer in 1st innings but on the field, Rahane took a stunning catch at the first slip as India bowlers worked hard on the rain-curtailed to pick up five wickets on the West Indies batting innings.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja bowled consistently well in the middle overs as the West Indies batter Blackwood edged one delivery to slips, where Ajinkya Rahane fielder dived full length to catch the ball one-handed to end the innings of the batter.

Coming into the game, India is well on top at the end of the Day 2 play posting a massive total of 438 runs in the 1st innings. Virat Kohli batted exceedingly well on Day 2 to score his 29th century in the longer format of the game alongside Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin scoring a half-century.

Meanwhile, the West Indies team has done a pretty decent job with the bat so far in the 1st innings, as their team batters tried to apply on the tough pitch in Queen’s Park Oval, as everyone played with a lot of determination to score runs against mighty Indian bowling attack on the Day 3 and they will look to continue their fine form going into the Day 4 and 5 of the game.

Ravindra Jadeja Has Been Brilliant If You See His Performance In Last Two Years – Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra was surprised by Ravindra Jadeja’s knock in the 1st innings of the 2nd test as it looked like the Indian veteran going to score a century on the Caribbean soil and reckons that he has been doing consistently well for India’s batting lower-order order.

“Ravindra Jadeja was there with Virat Kohli. I was slightly surprised he didn’t score a century here but I was feeling that he is all set for scoring a century.

“He has been brilliant if you see his performances in the last two years. He is second-best in the list of batters in terms of average at No. 6 or lower. We are not even talking about the wickets,” Aakash Chopra said.

Ravindra Jadeja has been in terrific form for India over the past few years and will look to contribute to the team’s success in the future as he can walk into the team in different situations and can be a handy bowler on the pitch he has some assistance for the spinners.
