West Indies skipper Rovman Powell admitted that their team did not bat well against the Indian team in the crucial 4th game of the T20 series and is hopeful of turning things around in the final and deciding game of the five-match T20 series on Sunday.
Winning the toss, West Indies opted to bat first on the wicket that favoured the batters in Florida on Saturday but the Windies’ batters lost wickets in the regular intervals, as they played a few rash shots to fall in packs before Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer put a decent partnership to post a challenging total on a board against the strong Indian batting lineup.
Speaking to the media after the loss against India, Rovman Powell said that their team was 10-15 runs short of the total on a good batting wicket in Florida and admitted that their bowlers didn’t stick to plans on the given day as they executed the plans against the quality Indian batters.

“I think this is a pretty good batting surface. We were around 10-15 runs short. Given that, Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope batted well. You know, we do have quality bowlers on our side but it was high-quality batters whom we were up against. We didn’t stick to our plans and felt the pressure of bowling to quality batters,” Rovman Powell said.
With 179 runs to chase, Youngsters Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal took the Windies bowlers to the cleaners for the Word-go, as they formed a record partnership of 165 runs for the 1st wickets to help the Men in Blue chase down the target in 17 overs, to keep the series alive 2-2 on Saturday.
If We Can Improve Against Spin, Then We’ll Do Well – Rovman Powell
Rovman Powell said that it always comes about their batter’s ability to play against the quality Indian spinners and wants them to improve their plans against the spinners and is excited to play the final and deciding game against the West Indies on Sunday.

“Always it comes down to spin, how we bat against their spinners. We didn’t bat well in the middle overs. If we can improve against spin, then we’ll do well. Yeah, it’s 2-2 as of now and tomorrow it’s a final and I will back West Indies in the final,” Rovman Powell added.
West Indies has suffered a back-to-back against the Indian side in the 3rd and 4th T20 International and they will look to turn things around in the final game of the T20 series to win the series against India after 17 long years.
