India A Team announced for Bangladesh A series, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina will play
Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina will play the first class cricket in a series against Bangladesh A ahead of South Africa as the selectors today named them in India A squads for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh starting September 16th.
Left-handed batsman Dhawan, who scored an outstanding 134 at Galle, but suffered a hand injury during the first Test against Sri Lankan and was ruled out for the remainder of the series, will lead the India A team in the three-day game against Bangladesh. With 72 days long, gruelling home South Africa series, Indian players will need to be fully fit to build the best team against the mighty South Africa.
Suresh Raina, who recently practiced with the Dutch cricket team in Netherland while he was visiting his wife Priyanka Chaudhary, who is employed at ING Vysya Bank, is included in the One Day squad, which will be led by Unmukt Chand.
The southpaw Raina has not played competitive cricket since the Bangladesh ODI series in June.
Bangladesh will play three ODI games and one three-day game against India A. Not only that, Bangladesh will play Ranji Champion Karnataka from September 22.
The three ODIs (September 16, 18, 20) will be played in Bangalore and the three-day game will be played at the same venue from September 27th.
