India has been awarded with USD 265,000 for standing third in ICC Test Ranking
The Indian cricket team has acquired a cheque of USD 265,000 on Tuesday for getting the third position in the Asia Cup. At the same time, South Africa has obtained USD 475,000 for acquiring the prior place in the ICC Test Team Ranking at the April 1 cutoff date.
The Proteas have grabbed their superior position in the ranking since August 2012, whereas Australia, India and England have acquired the other places.
ICC Chief Executive David Richardson has handed over the cheque to the Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief Haroon Lorgat, who has obtained it on the behalf of the association that got the superior Test ranking for the second consecutive year. South Africa, likewise, sustains the mallet, which is represented as the number-one Test team.
Richardson extolled the South African cricketers for their acquisition. “I applaud South Africa for excelling the ranking for the second consecutive year in our crest format. To sustain the prior Test spot in a season that saw some very appealing, competitive and high-profile series is an attainment to be proud of.” Richardson stated.
“With the prior eight Test teams closely matched, and every side focusing to hold the craved number-one Test position, I’m anticipating to another inspiring, calling for and competitive season, which will move on to consolidate Test cricket’s stature as the most abiding and respected format.” He added.
“I am really gratified and humbled to obtain the Reliance ICC Test prize money, not just on the side of the players and the team management but on behalf of all South Africans. The players groove on the colossal authorization of defining our nation and coming to have the accountability that goes with it.” He signed off.
