According to information from the Board of Control for Cricket in India, India will play 102 games in nutshell. Meanwhile, the first two seasons will have very few home games.
As of now, there is no tri-series lined up in FTP procedure for the next five years.
Meanwhile, as per Mumbai Mirror report, Indian team is bound to play 18 games in the upcoming season of 2018-19.
In 2020-21, they will have even fewer games – just 14. But there will be 26 matches in 2019-20, 21 in 2021-22 and 23 in 2022-23 respectively.
Out of the 102 games, 22 will be Tests matches which would be interesting while considering the traditional format.
However, the marquee series will be against Australia in 2018 and 2022, against England in 2020 and against South Africa in 2019 and 2021.
The number of Test against South Africa and Australia will be four while it will be five against England. There will be, of course, no games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the next five years at home.
As per the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) rules, each nation has to have at least six series, home and away.
In addition, subsequently in the first four-year cycle which will decide the finalists for World Test Championship.
These numbers have been mentioned in details in the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document for the BCCI’s television rights.
The television companies have apprehended overvaluation of non-India games during the next five years basing on a clarification sent by the BCCI ahead of the auction.
