As Board of Control in India (BCCI) is yet to give its official verdict on the full schedule for India hosting Sri Lanka, ESPNcrinfo’s latest report revealed the bilateral series will be beginning from November 16 in Kolkata and will run until December 24 in Mumbai.
As the detailed itinerary was released on Monday (October 1), the 37-day tour will be comprised of three Tests followed by three One-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals respectively.
It’s pertinent to mention in the space of little over two months this will be the second time India will take on Sri Lanka.
The first Test is slated at iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata between November 16 and 20.
Interestingly, the second Test is scheduled at Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur between November 24 and 28.
The same surface which has been re-laid after it received a ‘poor rating’ from the world cricket governing body ICC when South Africa was in India in 2015.
However, the VCA stadium was the venue for the fifth and final ODI between India and Australia on Sunday (October 1) which eventually won by hosts to wrap the series 4-1.
Moreover, the third and final Test will be held at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in country’s capital Delhi from December two onwards.
The 50-over series will kick start with the first ODI in Dharamsala on December 10 which will be followed by second ODI in Mohali on December 13, and the third game will take place in Visakhapatnam on December 17.
The shortest version of the game will be beginning in Cuttack (December 20) and the second T20 fixture will be played in Indore on December 22 and third on December 24 in Mumbai.
Moreover, the unofficial schedule has not listed the warm-up plans for the visiting side.
