India Is Lucky To Have Rohit Sharma – Zaheer Abbas
What a brilliant season it was for Rohit Sharma in the ICC World Cup 2019? The flamboyant batsman showed his class by knocking the runs on a consistent basis to make things fall in place. Meanwhile, the Pakistan batsman Zaheer Abbas showers words of praise on Rohit Sharma for his judgement while batting in the middle.
Rohit Sharma has been the wrecker-in-chief for the Indian team. He played his heart out to see Indian team winning the game in the league phase of the tournament. But, unfortunately, he failed to make things happen when it mattered the most.
The Indian vice-captain has scored five centuries in the recently-concluded World Cup, which are most for any batsman in a single edition of the marquee event. Meanwhile, the Pakistan icon Zaheer Abbas attributed Rohit Sharma’s success to his timing on the ball and judgement to perfection.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t do that in the semifinal against New Zealand team, as he was caught behind for just one run to his name. Rohit Sharma was just 27 runs away from becoming the highest run-scorer in a single addition of the ICC World Cup 2019. But, unfortunately, he missed it.
Rohit Sharma’s greatness lies in his Judgement – Zaheer Abbas
Speaking of Rohit Sharma, Zaheer Abbas quoted that the Indian National Cricket Team is lucky to have a class player like Rohit. He believes that Sharma got that extra-time to hit the ball wherever he wants to do.
”You’re lucky to have him in your (Indian) team. His judgement of the ball, the ball comes to his ‘computer’ much earlier than anyone else in your team. That’s basic. If you can judge the ball early, you can play your strokes — and he has a lot of strokes. That’s the greatness of a batsman,” Zaheer Abbas said to Sportskeeda.
However, it was a terrific tournament for Rohit Sharma but, unfortunately, ended up on the wrong side of things. He would have loved to play finals in the Lords.
