Team India will tour the upcoming stars in Bangladesh and the squad for the test matches includes both the off spinners who have performed well for India in the last decade. It will be hard to decide whom to play in the only test. Sri Lankan ace Muttiah Muralitharan said that the best move for India is to play both of them in the game.
Harbhajan Singh was included in the squad for the first time after playing his last test for India in 2013, 2 years ago. His inclusion came as a surprise but Bhajji earned his recall into the team with a consistent domestic season and a very good IPL. The squad also consists of another off spinner in Ashwin who has also been consistent in the previous year. Murali however feels that team India should go into the first test with both the spinners in the team.
Murali who was in Jadavpur University, said that Ashwin has been consistent and will always find a place in the team. And with Bhajji getting a place back in the team after good performances in the IPL, Murali said that India will find no harm in fielding both the players on a typical Bangladesh pitch.
The 43 year old played alongside Dharmasena for almost an year and Murali felt that if a team has two off spinners amongst their best bowlers, that the team will benefit by playing both of them. Murali also spoke about the Indian all rounder Axar Patel who was a part of the World Cup squad earlier in the year. Murali added that Axar, who has had a great IPL, has also been consistent and praise the Indian spin contingent for showing consistency in all forms of the game.
He also said that the appointment of Sachin, Laxman and Ganguly in the advisory committee by the BCCI was a great idea. He felt that the experience that the group of players have will help team India in the times ahead.
