India Squad For Remaining 3 Test Matches Against England Announced, Bhuvneshwar Kumar Recalled
Gautam Gambhir, the Indian opening batsman, has been dropped from the Indian Test squad for the last three Test matches against England. Fit-again Bhuvneshwar comes into the team in his place. Gautam Gambhir played the first Test match in which he scored 29 runs in the first innings and was dismissed for a duck in the second innings. He was soon replaced with KL Rahul in the next game who also failed to play as per the expectations.
Despite this, selectors have retained KL Rahul but have decided to drop Gautam Gambhir. Selectors have shown a forward-looking approach as they already have an opening batsman in the team in form of Karun Nair and it would have been unfair to him to include Gambhir this time. Surely, in case another failure, KL Rahul might get replaced with Karun Nair, who has been on the fringe of selection in playing XI from past one year.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was ruled out of the final Test against New Zealand has also made a comeback to the squad as the 16th member. The selectors have retained rest of the 15 members.
The third Test will start from November 26 at Mohali. India is already one up in the series with three Test matches still to be played in the series.India Squad for three Tests- Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Karun Nair, R Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya.
