The India tour of South Africa, which was earlier to be scheduled to start at the end of this year, will be played as per the plan and no matches will be cut out from the series. Earlier, it was learnt that BCCI wants the South African Board to cut down the tour and with the board announcing a big home season for the Indian cricket, it seemed that the tour might turn out to be a short tour but now it has been confirmed that India will tour South Africa for a complete tour and no games will be cut out from the tour, unlike India’s last tour to the country.

It means that India will play a total of four Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is – as planned earlier. As per a report in The Times of India, the Indian team will fly to South Africa on December 28, with the first Test match starting on January 3. South Africa had already earlier announced fixtures for series against Bangladesh and Australia but with Indian board earlier reluctant to tour the country for a complete series, they delayed the announcement.
South African Board will come out with the fixtures soon. Though they were earlier keen to host the Indian team in a Boxing Day Test match, with the Sri Lanka tour of India coming to an end of December 23, it was not possible.
Earlier, the Sri Lankan team was slated to tour India next year but the tour was preponed due to the Independence Cup, which will be played in the month of March in Sri Lanka.
