The eagerly awaited limited overs series between arguably the two best teams in the world India and Australia will commence from 17th Septemeber, and all the fans and supporters along with the former players from both countries are gearing up for the series. Any match between these two sides draws a lot of attraction, and the upcoming series won’t be an exception.
Meanwhile former Indian middle order batsman VVS Laxman predicted the series to go 4-1 in favour of the home team while former Aussie captain Michael Clarke predicted a 3-2 result in favour of the visiting side. Given India’s stupendous run across formats in the recent years, it would be a monumental task for the Aussies to win the series in India.
Meanwhile, the duo of Laxman and Clarke was present at a promotional event and was having fun in this discussion. When Laxman predicted a 4-1 result, then Clarke jokingly asked Laxman which one match the Aussies will win and whether it would be the opening game. Laxman despite predicting a 4-1 result said that it would be a pretty competitive series.
Laxman also gave specific reasons that why he feels India will win 4-1. Firstly Laxman is of the opinion that the Australian bowling department is depleted. He mentioned that even when they toured India last time they had a pretty strong bowling line-up but it is not the same this time around.
It is a very justified answer by Laxman especially after Australia’s maiden Test loss to Bangladesh a few days ago. Meanwhile, Clarke without giving any explanations said he expects a 3-2 result in favour of the Aussies.
When Australia toured India the last time for a limited overs series, it was India who won the series by a 3-2 margin and the series was highly competitive. India chased down more than 350 twice while Rohit Sharma also recorded a brilliant double century in the decider at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
