Abhinav Mukund, Tamil Nadu’s Ranji Trophy skipper, will lead the India ‘A’ squad in the practice game against Bangladesh, from February 5-6 to be played at Gymkhana Ground in Secunderabad.
On the other hand, Jayant Yadav, who missed the fifth Test and the limited overs series against England due to an injury will be making a comeback to competitive cricket after a period of almost two months.
The squad includes Priyank Panchal, the highest run-scorer of this year’s Ranji Trophy. Along with him, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Ishank Jaggi and Ishan Kishan have also been included.
Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya are the two fast bowling all-rounders in the squad with Shahbaz Nadeem, Kuldeep Yadav and Jayant Yadav given the responsibility to share the old ball. It is to be noted that as the three players can bat as well, providing the team extra balance.
Aniket Choudhary of Rajasthan and young Chama Milind will share the new ball among themselves. Choudhary scalped 21 wickets in seven Ranji games he played this year.
The two-day game will be the only chance for Bangladesh to assimilate to the conditions here in India before kicking off the historic one Test match series to be played in Hyderabad from February 9.
