India vs Australia 2017, 2nd Test, Day 2: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja Strike For Hosts
Australia must have thought of a score around 100 with one or no loss of wicket on the morning of Day 2 of the Bengaluru Test. Though, the story is little different now, as Indian bowlers struck at crucial intervals to put the hosts in a good stead.
David Warner and Matt Renshaw survived the Day 1 and ended on 40/0 but Ravichandran Ashwin got the first breakthrough, getting rid of Warner with a ripper.
Sledging, the Australians part of the game, was adopted by India on Day 2 morning. Delhi lads Ishant Sharma and Virat Kohli were continuously poking Matt Renshaw and skipper Steven Smith.
Indian bowlers looked on top of their game throughout the session. Though wickets column tells a different thing. Opener Renshaw got a chance in 37th over against Umesh Yadav, when Kohli missed a chance at the slip cordon. Though India got back right before the end of the session as Ravindra Jadeja picked up Aussie captain Steve Smith caught behind wicket by Wridhiman Saha.
So now we can sense anything around 200 to be a competitive total this pitch. For the next session Australia will look at score possibly as they have not shown that interest i first session of this day. Scoring just 47 runs with 2 wickets lost, they won’t be too pleased with this effort.
