3. Shaun Marsh – Matt Renshaw – The Stars

The twin stars of Australia’s innings, Matt Renshaw and Shaun Marsh applied themselves better than all out there. They did not seem to bow down to Indian bowlers and rather held their nerves to battle them out. They showed grit, discipline and patience, which was missing in many Indian batsmen in the first innings.
However, the manner of their dismissals were soft, their defense was much better. They made Indian bowlers work hard for their wickets. Riding on the duo’s resilient knock, Australia managed a lead of 48 runs with four wickets intact and most importantly three days left.
