There was banter on the pitch, there was Ishant Sharma mocking Steven Smith and then there were plethora of missed chances by India on Day 2. Like on Day 1 and on three days in the past Test, captain Virat Kohli messed up with reviews and if that didn’t hurt much, there were fielders present with buttery hands who dropped catches.

DRS seemed to part ways with King Kohli, as Shaun Marsh was given a life on three occasions, thanks to the newly brought in technique. On first occasion, he nicked one but no one appealed, thinking it was bat hitting the pad, which was not the case and he survived.

Later, he was adjudged LBW off Umesh Yadav’s delivery and reviewed. The decision went in his favour as the pitch map showed the impact was outside off stump. He survived again!

Decision Review System (DRS) has been haunting the Indian team under Virat Kohli’s captaincy from a while now.

Later, he was trapped in-front of wicket and it clearly showed he would have been given out, but it was Ishant’s front-foot over the line which saved him. He really got lucky until Umesh found him out. Moreover, catches were dropped, few were half-attempts and others were just lazy efforts.
