India vs Australia 2017: Brad Haddin Predicts A Stern Test For Wicket-keepers 1

Former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Brad Haddin has predicted India will be a tough place for Australian players and added that a wicket-keeper has to trust the technique of a batsman, in order to be successful in India where Australian players will face a stern test.

“You just have to find a way to catch them … sometimes you’ve got to catch them ugly. You’ve just got to get something behind the ball if they’re bouncing short, not carrying.

“It’s an unforgiving place but this team, since the Hobart Test match, is really starting to move forward and this will be a great opportunity to see how far we’ve come,”

“You’ve got to trust your technique .. when you’re put under pressure.

“And India can do that to a keeper. It can ask a lot of questions of your technique,” Haddin said.

Haddin travelled to New Zealand with the Australian team for the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy and also said that Matthew Wade, who was to lead the side in the series, was quite disappointed to miss out on the opportunity.

“He was disappointed … but there was a bigger picture in India he had to get right for.”

Wade missed the first game before being ruled out of the series due to a back injury.

Australian team is coming with two main wicket-keepers for the tour i.e. Peter Handscomb and Matthew Wade.

The four-match series starts in Pune from February 23.
