India vs Australia 2017: “I Don’t Think We Messed Up With DRS,” Says Anil Kumble

DRS and Indian team never go hand in hand as the decision to use the technology by Indian team have most of the time gone against them. The first Test match between India and Australia was another proof where Indian skipper Virat Kohli showed his inexperience to use the technology.
In fact, the fourth innings of the game, both the openers Murali Vijay and KL Rahul used the technology in order to get their LBW deacons checked but once again DRS went in favour of Australian team as Indian team once again made a joke out of DRS.
There were many talks that Indian team need to be taught how to use a DRS but Anil Kumble, the Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team thinks that Indian team hasn’t messed up with DRS till now and said,
“No, I think we keep talking about it and I think we did not mess up. If you look at the two series, where DRS was being used, we were better than the opposition. Both against England and Bangladesh, it’s too early to talk about that. In the hindsight, you can think that we missed out but those calls were pretty close. So I don’t find a reason to worry about that.”
Though Kumble is playing down the claim that Indian team messed up with DRS but it’s a fact that Indian team has failed able to reap advantage from the technology. Surely, the team, especially skipper Virat Kohli needs to brush up his skills on when to use a DRS or else DRS is of no use for the Indian team.
DRS is a life jacket for the team which can save them from sinking at the crucial moments but for India, DRS is yet to become that sort of protective layer which can completely save and help India at crucial moments.
