India vs Australia 2017: Indian Team Management Accuse Australian Team Management Of Cheating

The Indian team management has accused Australian team of cheating in the ongoing Test series between India and Australia, as per reports. The series has been a tough one for both the teams as after beating home side in the first Test, the Australian team carved out an epic loss in the second Test after being bowled out on 112, chasing a mere target of 188. The third Test was evenly poised and both the teams had an equal say in the game. The Test match ended in a draw.

Apart from on-field controversies and game plans, the heated series has been interrupted by off-field controversies as well as Australian media, which is the 12th man for the Kangaroos as per Sunil Gavaskar, is spreading venom against Indian team.

They have accused Kohli of foul play, have called him Donald Trump and also compared Indian skipper to an animal The Australian media has touched a new low and if the latest report is to be believed, the visiting media is getting instructions from none other than Australian team management itself to do such things.

The Indian team management has accused Australian team managers Gavi Dovey and Kate Hutchison of setting a meeting of an Australian journalist with Chris Broad, who didn’t take an action against Steve Smith for DRS controversy, even when Smith was caught on national television for asking for a help from the dressing room.

“At the end of the Bengaluru Test, Dovey went to meet Broad and the (Broad) assured him that there would be no action taken against Steve Smith. Broad assured the Australian team manager that this entire incident would not be reported by field umpire Nigel Llong,” a member of Indian camp told TOI.

“Dovey then introduced an Australian journalist to Broad and asked the latter to give him bytes on whether the dressing room review was reported or would be reported. The journalist tweeted the following on March 17, 2017, at 4.14 pm: ‘Match officials say the only time they are aware of Australians looking up to dressing room for guidance was Smith incident today Broad has broken the ICC protocol here and nobody is looking into it,” member added.

Chris Broad was removed as the match referee for the last two games and Richie Richardson, the former West Indies player replaced him after the DRS controversy,

Further, the member of Indian camp added that the Australian media manager gives regular updates to the Australian journalists during the matches,

“At the end of every session, the Australian media manager goes to the dressing room where she is briefed by the team manager. She then goes and plants it with the Australian journalists. For instance, in Ranchi, when Australian players were sledging Virat by using physio Patrick Farhat’s name, even the stump mic didn’t catch it nor Virat spoke about it. However, at the end of the day’s play, the Australian journalists started asking Virat about the incident,” the source said.

The series was expected to be an aggressive contest but the Australian journalists, with the help of Australian team management have touched a low, to make series a toxic one. This series will always be remembered for the off-field controversies, more than the form of the players.
