India Vs Australia 2017 – Jason Behrendorff Delighted After Match Winning Performance
With such a gruelling tour underway where the results were far from going Australia’s way, the Kangaroos desperately needed some inspiration to hit back at India and come out with a win. That is precisely what the inclusion of Jason Behrendorff did as the left arm pacer wrecked havoc on a deck that remained extremely difficult for batting in the ongoing India vs Australia T20I series.
The lanky left-arm pacer sent back India’s destructive duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli right in the first over of the game as India were put on the backfoot. Shikhar Dhawan and Manish Pandey followed suit, and at 27-4, India were already down and out. Getting to just 118, India somehow staged a recovery thanks to some solidity shown by the stand between Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya.
Needing 119, Australia did lose their openers early, but Moises Henriques, batting at 3 stood out with a steady half-century. Taking Kuldeep Yadav head-on, Henriques eliminated his side’s biggest threat with ease.
Jason Behrendorff was named the Man of the Match, and he was delighted with his spell.
“It’s not too often I get in front of the cameras, so I need to work on that. Nice to get one over in the last game but the experience was good nonetheless,” Behrendorff said.
“I have been working hard to play for Australia and am loving every minute of it. The whole Indian team is a class team and feels nice to take a few wickets and get ourselves to a great start. Can’t wait to do it again at Hyderabad.”
