India vs Australia 2017: Shreyas Iyer Joins Team India In Dharamsala As Virat Kohli’s Cover
Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer has joined the Indian team ahead of the fourth and final Test against Australia in Dharamsala.
The 22-year old, who had grabbed the headlines after amassing 1321 runs at an average of 73.38 to help Mumbai win Ranji title in 2015-16 season, had earlier pressed his claim for a place in the Indian Test team by scoring a magnificent double century for India A against Australia during the practice game prior to the ongoing series.
Meanwhile, The Indian Express has reported that it is still unclear as to who he is replacing or whether he will be included in the playing eleven for the final match which begins on March 25.
But it is quite likely that the Mumbai batsman has been called as a cover for India skipper Virat Kohli who skipped batting at India’s net session on Thursday (March 23). The 28-year old had injured his shoulder during the last Test in Ranchi and although he came out to bat in the second innings after missing two days of action, he did not comfortable.
The Delhi lad was seen doing some under-arm throwing with a bandaged right shoulder which is a clear indication that he has not recovered from the injury yet.
