India vs Australia 2017: Twitter Reacts As Yuvraj Singh Fails To Find A Place In Squad 1

Dealing a significant blow to Yuvraj Singh’s already off the track international career, the selectors, on Sunday (September 10), snubbed the veteran batsman once again for the upcoming One-Day International series against Australia.

The MSK Prasad-led panel announced the 16-man squad for the first three matches of the series. The only two additions to the squad that played against Sri Lanka are pace duo Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav while Shardul Thakur is the only omission.

The latest snub looks a body blow to Yuvraj’s career. Speculations were rife about his career after he was ignored for the ongoing Duleep Trophy and the upcoming warm-up game against Australia but MSK Prasad’s comments about him had given some hopes.

After Yuvraj was not included in the squad for the Sri Lanka series, Prasad had said: “Yuvraj has been rested,” Prasad had said. “Doors are never closed on anybody. Everybody has got a right to play cricket. It’s their passion. They are chasing their passion. Regarding selection, we try to select the best possible team.”

However, it looks like time has finally run out for the 36-year old who despite scoring a career-best 150 in his comeback series earlier this year, failed to make opportunities count. Meanwhile, the fans did not take the snub kindly and took to Twitter to vent their frustration:
