India Vs Australia 2017 – Yuvraj Singh’s Mom Backs Him To Make A Comeback
It has to be said with a heavy heart, that watching Yuvraj Singh getting dropped or apparently “rested” as the selectors call it, was an incredibly disheartening sight. The inspiration for millions across the globe, Yuvraj has been a resilient warrior in every walk of life, be it his recovery from an illness or his sheer will to win games for his nation. There remain hardly any individuals who are as inspiring as this lion-hearted champion.
A primary reason for his exclusion though wasn’t his form or the lack of it, but his dropped levels of fitness. According to inside sources within the BCCI, Yuvraj had failed the Yo-Yo test in Bangalore before the selections for the Sri Lanka series. With India keen on becoming the best fielding side, Yuvraj’s fitness was the primary cause of his exclusion from the team.
People around him though, still have a gut feeling that being the champion he is, Yuvi still can make a comeback into the Indian ODI team. One person who has been with him through all thick and thin has been his mother, Shabnam Singh.
Recently in an interview, she stated that Yuvraj measured 15.1 in the endurance test, where the level of passing was reported at 16. However, she went on to state that Yuvraj was working hard on his fitness, and would soon ace the test and cross the 16 barriers. Below, is a detailed report of what she said.
