The selection committee for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Friday (February 15) has named the 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match India vs Australia 2019 One-day International series. Although, it’s been two different squads for the first two ODIs and it’s also followed by a three-match squad.

The ODI series will run between March 2 and March 13. The forthcoming series will be a perfect ground for the 2019 World Cup preparations. The chief of selectors MSK Prasad has presided the meeting at BCCI’s Mumbai headquarters.

Paceman Siddarth Kaul will feature in the first three ODIs. However, KL Rahul, who missed out on the limited-overs series Down Under, has made it to the squad for all five games.

The top-order batsman Rahul has returned on the back of some decent performances against England Lions for India A.

Kaul has last played for India against Afghanistan in September 2019 during the Asia Cup campaign. So far, Kaul has featured in three ODIs, two T20I for India since making his debut in June 29, 2018. He bagged three wickets in the T20 fold.

The spin duo in Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will bowl in tandem in the home series. In the fast bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah’s return will boost the Team India.

However, Dinesh Karthik hasn’t been impressed the selectors. But southpaw Rishabh Pant will feature in the squad.

Besides, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host the first ODI. The series will culminate with the Delhi ODI.
