Former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden has made an admission that India is a dominant force to reckon. He maintained the hosts had done an outstanding job at their den. Despite India losing the first of India vs Australia 2019 two-match Twenty20 International (T20I) at Vizag on February 24, Hayden believes the solidity in the Indian setup, has been the focal point while heaping praise on the Indian wrist spinners.
In his video interview, Hayden reiterated India is a side with ‘full of package’ while considering their strengths in contemporary times.
“They have the depth of talent – leg-spinners, chinaman’s, quality batting. Despite that, there seems to be enormous stability as well,” Hayden told Star Sports.
In the recent past, India has thrashed Australia in Australia before routing New Zealand 4-1 in the five-match ODI series.
With the sheer domination in the white-ball cricket in overseas conditions, India further recorded a historic Test series win on Australian soil by sealing a series 2-1, earlier this year.
“India is doing well away from home; they have done really well to be ranked number one in Tests,” Hayden added.
With India yielding the results under the dynamic leadership of Virat Kohli, Hayden maintained things wouldn’t be easy for Australia in the second T20 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on February 27 (Wednesday).
The 47-year-old southpaw Hayden has further suggested a couple of things for Australia on tackling hosts.
As India has formed one of the great sides by banking on the mixture of talented youth and reliant senior campaigners, Hayden asserted the hosts wouldn’t rely on too many changes.
“Their policy has been to stay constant and not change too much. Also, the results are speaking for them,” Hayden said.
Furthermore, as Australia is leading the series 1-0. Also, the visitors would be eyeing to register their first-ever T20I series win against India.
Well, India would want to level the T20I series by aiming for a good all-round show.
