Former Indian National Cricket Team skipper MS Dhoni suffered an injury scare ahead of the first ODI against Australia o March 2 (Saturday) at Hyderabad. Meanwhile, India lost the T20I series 2-0 and will be desperate to make a strong comeback.
However, on the eve of the game, Dhoni sustained an injury on his right forearm while taking throwdowns from the team’s support staff member Raghavendra. The veteran cricketer had a long session in the nets and was hitting the ball pretty well. But while taking throwdowns as a routine schedule, Dhoni got hit on his arms.
It was one such delivery from Raghavendra that kicked up and Dhoni was hit on the right forearm. MS Dhoni looked in some pain and didn’t bat after that as a precautionary measure. However, there is no official word from BCCI about Dhoni’s injury. He is likely to be fit and take the field for the Saturday’s clash.
MS Dhoni has been in fine touch right from the start of 2019. He scored runs in the ODI series against Australia – which helped the men in blues win their first bilateral ODI series in Australia. He continued his good form against New Zealand as well playing some match-winning knock. However, he was under the scanner for his slow innings in the first T20I against Australia. As a result, India only managed to post 161 runs as Australia overhauled the target with ease.
But the veteran cricketer bounced back in style at Bengaluru playing a 23-ball 40 runs knock. He stitched a 1000run partnership with Virat Kohli helping India post 191 runs on the scoreboard. However, their partnership was not enough as Glenn Maxwell stole the game away with the match-winning century.
