With India chasing the target of 314, it was on cards Australia will go hard at hosts in the much-win game for visitors. The Men in Blue lost first three wickets at 27 in 6.2 overs. However, captain Virat Kohli alongside senior batsman MS Dhoni took India out of the precarious situation by adding 59 runs for the fourth wicket, but this time around, leg-spinner Adam Zampa sent back Dhoni with quality delivery.

Earlier, Australians were asked to bat first as the guests rode on 193-run first-wicket partnership from skipper Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja.

On the other side, Khawaja has slammed his first-ever ODI hundred by scoring 104 off 113 balls. Finch faced 99 balls for his 93. The duo has shared 21 fours and four sixes.

At the top, Glenn Maxwell‘s promotion augured well for the Kangaroos. He slammed 31-ball 47 with the help of three sixes and as many boundaries.

But the excellent show on the field from Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni got rid of dangerous Maxwell before Marcus Stoinis put up 31 off 26 deliveries.

Also, the wicketkeeper-baseman Alex Carey has scored 17 off 21*.

For India, the wrist-spinner in Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers. He sent down ten overs to bag three wickets while conceding 64 runs. Also, paceman Mohammed Shami bagged a solitary wicket of Khawaja.

Coming back to Dhoni, who faced 42 balls for his 26, attributed it with two fours and a maximum. However, he was going good at his home ground following a cautious start.

The incident took place on the first ball of 19th over when thick inside edge saw the ball hitting the leg stump before zing bails came off. Dhoni aimed for a big shot yorked himself in the process of scoring runs at pace.

With the wicket of Dhoni, there was a brief lull when the veteran walked off perhaps for the last time at his home gr0und.
