India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma played a rusty shot as he was stumped by Australia’s wicket-keeper Alex Carey. Rohit was beaten in the air when he pranced down the wicket to leg-spinner Adam Zampa. However, the stylish batsman could not make the contact with the bat and also lost the grip of his bat. Thus, it was a huge scalp for the visitors as Rohit Sharma was the only one who was standing between Australia and the series triumph.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma managed to score 56 runs. However, it was a poor shot from the experienced batsman as he should have taken it deep. Subsequently, India is behind the eighth-ball in their run-chase as they need another 100 runs from 65 balls.
Rohit Sharma played a rash shot.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma became the third joint fastest to score 8000 ODI runs as he achieved the milestone in 200 innings. India’s former skipper Sourav Ganguly had also achieved the landmark in 200 innings. Virat Kohli had completed 8000 ODI runs in the 175 innings.
Meanwhile, Australia had posted 272 runs after Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. Usman Khawaja scored a fine hundred, which was his second ODI hundred as well as second of the series.
Khawaja added 75 runs with Aaron Finch whereas the southpaw batsman added 99 runs with Peter Handscomb. Handscomb who had scored a fine century in the previous match continued his good form going as he scored a fine knock of 52 runs.
On the other side, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja scalped two wickets each whereas Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets. Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are keeping the hosts in the contest as they have added a good partnership of 80 runs.
