India vs Australia 3rd ODI: Visitors Bat First, Aaron Finch Returns
Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat first in the third One-Day International at Holkar Stadium, Indore.
For the visitors, Aaron Finch has replaced Hilton Cartwright, and Matthew Wade has made way for Peter Handscomb. On the other hand, India have remained unchanged.
Here is what the captains said:
“We are going to bat. Hopefully, we can post a good total. Finch and Handscomb are playing.”
“We would have batted first as well. The pitch could play better for the batsmen under lights; maybe it will be a little slow during the day when it is dry. We are playing the same team.”
Meanwhile, India will have a chance to wrap up the series in Indore. The Men in Blue are currently leading the five-match series 2-0, and a win in the third ODI will give them the series-clinching win. The win will also help Kohli to equal MS Dhoni’s record of most consecutive ODI victories for an Indian captain. Dhoni had led India to 9 consecutive wins between 2008 and 2009 and Kohli has led the team in eight straight wins so far.
Playing eleven of both the teams:
Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steven Smith(c), Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Peter Handscomb(w), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kane Richardson
Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli(c), Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni(w), Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal
