KL Rahul’s sixth half-century of the series and a quickfire knock from Ajinkya Rahane guided India to a comfortable 8-wicket victory over Australia in the fourth Test at Dharamsala. With this win, the hosts have also bagged the series 2-1.
Set a target of 106, India chased down the total quite comfortably in the first session of the fourth day. Resuming the day on 19 for no loss, India openers- KL Rahul and Murali Vijay- began cautiously and added 27 runs to the overnight score before Vijay edged a Pat Cummins delivery straight to the Matthew Wade. In the same over, Cheteshwar Pujara had to return to the pavilion for a duck after Glenn Maxwell ran him out following a horrible mix-up. But Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane did not give the visitors another chance to put pressure on the hosts as they shared an unbeaten partnership of runs to take India home. Rahul was unbeaten on 51 while Rahane scored 38 from only 27 balls.

This is a reward for aggressive team selection. Big factor in the series to go in with five bowlers in Dharamsala
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) March 28, 2017
That's the sort of aggression we need in cricket. No words said, an emphatic statement made! #Rahane #INDvAUS

First duck for Pujara in home Tests, in 50 innings. He has had 2 ducks in 31 innings outside India. And his 4th run-out dismissal. #IndvAus
— Bharath Seervi (@SeerviBharath) March 28, 2017
Pujara seemed demotivated and got out early because there was no chance left to bat two consecutive days in this match.#IndvAus

What. A. Mess! Pujara run out and suddenly India are 46 for 2. #IndvAus pic.twitter.com/85O2d8FNAh

WTF! Brain fade moment for both Pujara and Rahul and India's most consistent batsman in series run out. Tension has built up suddenly…
