India vs Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bangalore Test Toss Report: Mukund Replaces Injured Vijay, Nair Back As India Bat first
The first contest of the day i.e. toss went in favour of India as the home side led by Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat on what seems to be a good surface for batting. The Indian team had to make a forced change as Murali Vijay is suffering from a shoulder injury and he made way for Abhinav Mukund, who is making a comeback to the side after a hiatus of six years. Karun Nair too made his comeback in the side in place of Jayant Yadav.
This time though Kohli went with a defensive mindset as Indian team went with a seven-four combination, which is not just Kohli’s style of play.
On the other side, as announced, Steve Smith did not tinker with his playing XI and retained the 11 men from the last game.
India Playing XI: Abhinav Mukund, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli(c), Ajinkya Rahane, Karun Nair, Ravichandran Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma.
Australia Playing XI: Matt Renshaw, David Warner, Steven Smith(c), Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade(w), Mitchell Starc, Steve O’Keefe, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
