The Indian team was right on the money against Bangladesh as the guests finished the first session on 63-3. The visitor’s skipper Mominul Haque won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts had a perfect start as Umesh Yadav struck in the sixth over of the day.
The gun fast bowler who was on song against South Africa was able to produce the outside edge of Imrul Kayes which was taken by Ajinkya Rahane. Subsequently, rookie batsman Shadman Islam also could not hang around much as he was dismissed by Ishant Sharma in the next over.

Indian pacers were right on the money.
The lanky pacer was able to get an outside edge which was taken by Wriddhiman Saha. Mohammad Shami also started on a bright note as he was able plumb Mohammad Mithun in front of the wickets for 13 runs. The right-hander had the rub of the green on the side as Ajinkya Rahane could not take a sharp catch off Ravichandran Ashwin.
Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque showed the resistance and played with soft hands to get runs down the third man. The tourists’ veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim looked good before he was troubled by Ishant Sharma in the last minutes before the lunch break.

Rahim was lucky to go to lunch undefeated as he was dropped by Virat Kohli at third slip when he was only on three runs. Kohli went with hard hands and could not hang on to a simple catch by his standards.
All the Indian pacers were able to get help from the surface and pitched the ball up to get assistance from the surface. In fact, Ravichandran Ashwin was the only bowler who bowled and didn’t get a wicket. Furthermore, Ravindra Jadeja was not given a chance to roll over his arm by Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
