India and Bangladesh will continue their rivalry when the two teams will square off in the first Test in Indore. India will be bolstered by the comeback of skipper Virat Kohli, who was rested for the T20I series. The selectors retained the same squad that played against South Africa and there is no change in the squad, albeit Kuldeep Yadav made his comeback after missing the third Test due to a shoulder issue.
Team India is unlikely to make any changes in the playing XI, which will mean that likes of Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill and Kuldeep might sit out of playing XI.
Bangladesh, without Tamil Iqbal and Shakib al Hasan, will have a tough task under a new captain, Mominul Haque. A surprise pick for the job, Haque has his task cut out. Mustafizur Rahman, who went wicketless in the T20I series, will continue to lead the pace attack. In the batting department, likes of Imrul Kayes, Muhfiqur Rahim, Mahmuduallah and others have to do the heavy lifting.
Conditions –
The conditions in Indore will be batsmen friendly but the pacers will have their say early in the morning. Hence, the team batting first will have to negate the pacers in the first hour before going for runs. The conditions will mean India will also have Ishant Sharma in the playing XI, who was rested for the Ranchi Test against South Africa.
Injury update and availability –
Mosaddek Hossain flew back home recently due to family reasons and might be unavailable for the first Test. From India, all the players are fit and ready for selection.
