It wasn’t the kind of start the Indian team was looking for to kick-off the historic Test against Bangladesh. The home side lost KL Rahul early on fourth delivery of the day courtesy some loose batting from the right-handed batsman.

It seemed like Bangladesh would capitalize on the chance but the duo of Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara went onto stamp their authority as they faced the visitors’ seamers without much trouble.

The duo was cautious in the first 10 overs before Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim made a customary change with Soumya Sarkar on one end and Mehedi Hasan Miraz, the surprising package of Bangladesh on the other. However, after being unimpressed with Sarkar’s bowling, skipper replaced him with Kamrul Islam Rabbi the very next over.

Mehedi though continued to bowl well. He troubled both batsmen but couldn’t get a breakthrough. Same was the case with Shakib Al Hasan who bowled extremely well but without any luck.
