There is absolutely no stopping the juggernaut called Virat Kohli. The India batting star enjoyed a brilliant 2016 where he scored heavily in all formats and against all oppositions. The last year saw him scoring 2595 international runs at a stunning average of 86.50.
The 2016 saw him converting himself from being India’s best batsman to the best in the world. He began the year without a single double century in Tests and finished it with three double tons to his name. The double-centuries came in three consecutive series and the 28-year-old has started the new year in the same fashion as he hit another double century in the ongoing Test against Bangladesh.
The Delhi star did not enjoy a very brilliant start to the year as he had a lukewarm outing in the limited-overs series against England. But he made amends for his average show with another gem of an innings in the white jersey. The India skipper came to the crease after Cheteshwar Pujara’s dismissal on 180 and shared important partnerships with Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane to put India firmly on the driver’s seat.
Meanwhile, the Twitterati went berserk after another monumental innings from the Indian run machine. Here are some of the best reactions:
