Umesh Yadav and co. toppled Bangladesh with some serious reverse swing, as India grabbed three wickets at lunch on Day 3 of the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Hyderabad.
Nothing new, nothing unusual, team India started off another day at office with a bang. Coming into bowl after picking up one wicket the previous evening, the hosts were quick in grabbing another one. Opener Tamim Iqbal was the first one to go. Because of an uninvited misunderstanding between Tamim and Mominul Haque, the left-handed batsman found himself yards out of the crease, only to get dismissed for 24.
It was this wicket which instilled aggression into the Indian side as then they went all guns blazing. Sticking to his pace attack, Virat Kohli probably did the right thing. Umesh Yadav, with his rapid pace and reverse swing, kept the Bangladeshi batsmen on back-foot. By not showing the shiny side of the ball, he was successful in deceiving the visitors and moments later, he found Haque trapped in front of the wicket on 12. To say the least, the youngster never looked to dominate the bowlers during his stint at the crease.
Middle-order batsman Mahmudullah displayed some of his good looking shots, before getting adjudged LBW on a Ishant’s delivery on 28. Bangladesh, after starting the day on 41 for one, were reduced to 109 for four by 35th over.
Two of their most experienced players, Shakib Al Hasan and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim then took the crease and ended the session without any further hiccup.
At Lunch on Day 3:
Bangladesh – 124/4; Shakib Al Hasan 29*(55), Mahmudullah 28(57), Umesh Yadav 2/32
