The batsman continued his fine form by making a magnificent 124 of just 180 deliveries which saw the Indian spinners and pacers struggle at Rajkot on the first day of the test match. Joe Root’s terrific innings included 11 boundaries and a biggie. Root played an important innings for the England team as they lost 3 wickets early in the match. His partnership with Moeen Ali was exceptional and the main reason for which England are in a comfortable position now.
