4. 17-21 July 2014 (Lord’s): India Won By 95 Runs

A stunning seven-wicket haul from Ishant Sharma saw India drew the first blood in the series.
The Indian batsmen failed to continue their fine form in the second Test as they were dismissed for 295. Ajinkya Rahane was the only major contributor with 103 runs. In reply, England took a slender lead of 24 runs. Gary Ballance top-scored for the hosts with 110 runs.
First Test hero Murali Vijay led India’s charge in the second innings with a brilliant knock of 95 runs. Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also scored half-centuries as India set England a target of 319 runs.
Defending the target, Indian pace spearhead Ishant Sharma produced one of the most memorable spells in the history of Indian fast bowling to leave England shell-shocked. The visitors won the match by 95 runs and ended a run of more than three years without an overseas Test victory
