1. 15-17 August 2014: England Won By An Innings And 244 Runs

The last Test between the two teams was a forgettable one for the Indian team as they suffered their third heaviest defeat in the longest format of the game.
Batting first, India could score only 148 runs. Barring Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who scored 82 runs, not a single batsman could cross the 20-run mark. In fact, only two players- Murali Vijay and Ravichandran Ashwin were able to cross the double-digit mark.
In reply, England posted a mammoth total of 486 runs with the help of Joe Root’s 149* and half-centuries from Alastair Cook and Gary Ballance. The huge score left India with almost no chance of saving the Test and the Indian batsmen did not even try to save the Test. MS Dhoni’s men fell like a pack of cards and were dismissed for a paltry score of 94, handing England a huge win of an innings and 244 runs.
Brief scores:
England 486 (Root 149, Cook 79, Ballance 64) beat India 148 (Dhoni 82, Woakes 3-30) and 94 (Jordan 4-18) by an innings and 244 runs.
