India vs England 2016/17, 2nd ODI, Cuttack: Player Ratings
Asking India to bat first in the second ODI of the three-match series at Cuttack, England were at the receiving hand of a Yuvi-Dhoni master class. The duo shared a mammoth 256-run partnership off just 230 deliveries. Almost all England bowlers received a battering as India posted a humongous 381.
In reply, England managed to score 366 runs, thereby losing the match by 15 runs. Captain Eoin Morgan played a valiant knock of 102 runs while Jason Roy was not far behind with 82 runs. England will feel they could have won both matches as they had India on the mat for long periods in both innings but couldn’t finish the game off.
India, on the other hand, have now taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with a game to go at Kolkata.
Here are player ratings of the Indian team:
Shikhar Dhawan (1):
The Indian Opener once again failed as he scored just 11 runs. This innings means Dhawan has now floundered in consecutive matches, and with Rohit Sharma waiting in the wings; the third ODI in Kolkata might just be southpaw’s last chance to salvage his ODI career.
