Yadav’s crucial two wickets in the first innings was just the sort of beginning the hosts needed. He bowled an unplayable delivery to young Haseeb Hameed in the first innings. He followed it up by going through the defences of Chris Woakes later in the day. All in all, he complemented Shami perfectly to set the platform.
