2. Joe Root

Having mentioned earlier about the failures of openers to score runs on the tour, England batsman Joe Root will join his team-mate Roy at the top. Without a doubt, one of most technically sound batsman from either team, Root had his imprint on the Indian bowlers during the first two ODI’s, before he was left out in the third. His scores of 78 and 54 toiled both seamers and spinners, while averaged 66 and registered runs at a strike-rate of 88.
