India vs England First Test Day 2: Performer of the day! 1

The day started with the England batsman resuming their innings from 311/4.

Moeen Ali Walked in with an overnight score of 99. along with him was the English all-rounder Ben stokes.
Ben stokes was desperate to get some runs after his 3 consecutive ducks.
After play resumed Moeen Ali completed his 4th Test century.
It was his first century away from home. After that, he got going with 3 fours in the same over off Umesh Yadav.
However, in an over of Mohammad Shami, he left an Inswinging ball which crashed on the off stump bringing his wonderful Innings to an end.

Stokes, on the other hand, was playing well and even notched up a fifty partnership with Ali before he was dismissed.
Stokes too was lucky today as he was dropped twice today by Wriddhiman Saha.
Indian fielding has been sloppy in this Test and these dropped catches of Stokes was surely gonna pay them.
After Ali’s dismissal; walked in Jonny Bairstow. The duo, with Stokes at the other end, started playing aggressively and runs were flowing.

Meanwhile, Stokes completed his fifty, but few know what was to follow.
Stokes and Bairstow playing aggressively got in a nice groove and were impossible to stop for a moment.

Spinners were the culprit getting hammered all over, going for 8-10 runs at times.
Stokes batted brilliantly going after Amit Mishra not let him settle down.
The duo was scoring with a run rate of almost 4.80 RPO.

Just when the partnership was on 99, Bairstow edged a wide delivery from Shami and Saha grabbed onto this one.
Finally, some smiles were back on the Indian faces in the stands as they have been witnessing a rare sight of Indian bowlers getting hammered after a long time.
And then lunch was taken with stokes batting on a score of 84 runs off 136 balls.
Resuming after lunch India struck again dismissing Chris Woakes who edged a Jadeja delivery to the wicket-keeper.
Stokes, on the other hand, was playing sensibly and was soon in this nineties.

He showed his nervousness as he miscued a shot but it landed short of Virat Kohli.
But he still managed to get through it. With a beautiful boundary off Jadeja’s bowling,

Stokes completed his 4th Century and became the 3rd English batsman to get a ton in this innings.

Batting precisely he took England past the score of 500 runs.
But soon after that run rate started to drop and finally India got a breakthrough in the form of Stokes.
He went for a shot down the leg side and was caught behind for 128 runs off Umesh Yadav.

Finally his presence in the middle came to an end and we saw a tired Stokes walk back.
The batsman showed great character and took England to a very comfortable position.

Stokes was surely the performer of the day!

England inning was warped up for 537 runs and at the end of the day, India are at 63/0 trailing by 474 runs.
