India vs England Review: India Win The Third Test To Go 2-0 Up In the Five Match Series
India won the third Test quite comfortably in the end taking a 2-0 lead in the Test series.
England started their innings on an overnight score of 78/4 with Joe Root and Gareth Batty were at the crease.
Ravindra Jadeja soon dismissed Batty and start of the day for India. Jos Buttler came in and tried to play some attacking cricket stitching a partnership with Root.
But soon was caught near the boundary off the bowling of Jayant Yadav. Injured Hameed walked in and was welcomed with an array of short balls.
England looked to stay until lunch without loosing any more wicket but a stunning catch from Ajinkya Rahane sent Root back and left everyone surprised including Rahane himself.
Woakes walked in stayed till lunch.
After lunch, Hameed and Woakes stitched a nice small partnership and looked good.
But India after taking the new ball immediately brought Shami in and a short ball form him hit Woakes right on the helmet. The very next ball he was dismissed.
And then the batting crumbled with Adil Rashid following Woakes soon into the dressing room dismissed off a short ball from Shami.
Hameed on the other end kept playing and got to a fifty. Anderson joined him in the middle.
The duo trying to score some quick runs but in the mean time Anderson was run out and England was all out for 236 setting India a modest target of 103.
India started positively with Parthiv Patel’s array of boundaries. Murali Vijay, on the other hand, looked troubled and was dismissed off a short ball.
Just like few of his last innings. England has found a new weakness in him in the form of a short ball. Pujara walked in and the both played with a positive intent hitting 6 boundaries before tea.
After tea, India continued their Attack with Parthiv Patel going all guns blazing against the England bowlers hitting a lot of boundaries.
Soon he got to his fifty off just 39 balls. Pujara too joined him with few boundaries but was dismissed off a ball from Adil Rashid with only a few runs left.
Kohli came in and the duo took India home. Parthiv was awesome in his 2nd innings and finished with a four to win it for India.
Overall a super performance from India take them 2-0 up in the series and it is now perfectly set up for India to win the series.
Ravindra Jadeja is the man of the Match with a crucial 90 runs and 4 wickets.
