Watch – Virat Kohli Rides on a Segway Post Napier Win
Virat Kohli knows how to celebrate a win. On Wednesday, in Napier, after India clinched an eight-wicket victory over New Zealand; he was seen riding a Segway. Looking delighted while roaming around on one, Virat cheered up his teammates and the fans watching from the stadium. Meanwhile, India has drawn the first blood at the McLean Park and will now head to the Bay Oval for the second ODI on Saturday.
A happy beginning for India in NZ
The India National Cricket Team started from where they had left, a victory. During the first ODI, they bowled first after losing the toss. Mohammed Shami, the frontline seamer picked two wickets in his first two overs.
Martin Guptill and Colin Munro being the victims, the Kiwis were on the backfoot straightaway. After that, it was all about the spinners. Though Yuzvendra Chahal scalped two wickets, it was Jadhav who got the dangerman, Henry Nicholls.
It was about time before Kuldeep Yadav ran through the tail. He also got the big fish in Kane Williamson, the highest-scorer of NZ with 64 runs. However, the innings was wrapped on 157.
India, during their chase, didn’t lose the plot. The pair of Dhawan and Rohit did find some gaps early on. However, an interruption, first for the lunch break and secondly because of extra-sunlight halted play. It seemed to have helped New Zealand, as they got Rohit’s wicket on 11.
Later, a 91-run stand between Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan ensured India was not losing out on the game. Though Dhawan completed his 26th ODI fifty, Virat fell short by five runs. Rayudu and Shikhar then completed the formality, as India cruised to win with eight wickets in hand.
