Ajinkya Rahane is known for his solid defence and fine technique on fast wickets. The 31-year-old has always been a fearless driver of the ball. The right-hander is strong on the back foot as well as the front foot. Rahane can adapt to conditions quite well and can change his batting as per the situation.
The Mumbai batsman possesses superb hand-eye coordination and is a fine stroke player on bouncy wickets. Rahane uses his hand-eye co-ordination superbly while playing the pull shots. He is equally good while playing against the spinners.
Rahane has shown great footwork on seaming conditions which will be crucial for Team India. Rahane scored 162 runs in India’s tour to New Zealand in 2014 which included a fine century in the 2nd Test.
