2. Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round contribution
Jadeja played a key role in helping India to win the first test match. He made 42 important runs in the first innings to help India to reach a total of 318. On the third day, Jadeja bowled exceptionally well as he picked 3 wickets in an over to change the course of the game. He picked up a total of 5 wickets. In the second innings too, he scored an important 50 to help India to set a target of 434. In the second innings despite picking just 1 wicket he bowled good line and length restricting the New Zealand batsmen to score runs freely. For his all-round contributions, rightly he was named as the man of the match.
