3. Jadeja and Ashwin’s excellent bowling created pressure on New Zealand batsmen

Jadeja and Ashwin bowled exceptionally well in both the innings. On the whole they bowled 134.2 overs of a total 183.2 (73.2%) overs of the two innings of the New Zealand team among them. On the second day the New Zealand team negotiated the spin bowling of Ashwin and Jadeja by adopting to sweep most of the balls. From the third day onwards, the Indian spin twin put consistent pressure on New Zealand batting line up. In the first innings, Jadeja and Ashwin picked 9 wickets breaking the backbone of New Zealand line up. In the second innings too, Ashwin picked 6 wickets and Jadeja picked only 1 wicket. Among two of them they shared 16 of the 19 wickets falling (1 run out).Both of them showed how to bowl in pair complimenting each other especially in Indian conditions.
