India vs West Indies: 1st T20I, Hyderabad – Match Prediction
India will play their penultimate series of the year against the West Indies. The first T20I between the two teams will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The Indian team had clean sweep the West Indies in the three-match T20I series in the Carribean which took place in August. Consequently, the Virat Kohli-led side will look to continue their domination against Kieron Pollard-led side.
Meanwhile, the West Indies had lost their last series against Afghanistan 2-1 and they will definitely lack confidence against the potent Indian side. Kieron Pollard has already stated that they will be underdogs against the Indian juggernauts.
India will be favorites.
India is ranked fifth in the ICC T20I rankings and they would look to improve on their standings. On the other hand, the West Indies is placed at the 10th rank and they haven’t done justice to the talent they possess.
Meanwhile, India has got Kuldeep Yadav back and the southpaw spinner will look to hit the ground running. The chinaman spinner was dropped from the T20I side and he would aim to grab his chance with both hands.
Furthermore, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also back in the side and he would like to be right on the money. Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out and it would give an opportunity to KL Rahul to open the innings with Rohit Sharma.
On the other hand, West Indies will need to play at the top of their game to upset the Indian team. There is no Andre Russell and Chris Gayle in the visitors’ side and it would be a perfect opportunity for the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran to step up their game.

Match Prediction: India will begin the contest as red-hot favorites and the West Indies will need to play out of their skin to surprise the hosts. However, the Windies are always a dangerous T20I side and the hosts can not afford to be complacent.
