Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out from the ODI squad because he didn’t recover from the injury which he got during the domestic tournament. Now, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is set to miss the ODI series. He recurred with his old injury in the T20I series against West Indies. It has opened up the fresh opportunity to pacer Shardul Thakur, who has played only Test, five ODIs and seven T20Is for India.

Mayank Agarwal has also got the chance in place of the opener, Shikhar Dhawan. If he plays the upcoming ODI, it will be his debut match in the One Day International. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are the two other Indian cricketers who are also out of action because of the injuries.
